We celebrate the potential in all young people, aiming to teach, empower and release them into their incredible futures. We are currently recruiting for a new Head of Youth Ministry (see below). Our Youth work includes ROC and MIFF in various settings throughout the week, alongside local community engagement as part of the Pineapple Youth Project. 

The youth work is split into a variety of groups.

We are looking for a new Head of Youth ministry to join our thriving staff team. The successful candidate will have a heart for Christ and young people, and be able to lead, recruit and work with a team of volunteers. You should have experience of leading and inspiring youth, building teams, and relating well to parents, both inside & outside the church.

ROC (11 to 14’s)

ROC is for young people in school years 7-9. We meet during term time on Fridays from 7-8.30pm at Riverside House, 21 Alcester Road, Moseley, B13 8AR. On Sunday mornings, we meet during our Moseley (10.30am) and Bournville (10:30am) gatherings as part of Riverside Church.

MIFF (15 to 18’s)

MIFF is for young people in school years 10-13. We meet during term time on Fridays from 8.30-10pm at Riverside House, 21 Alcester Road, Moseley, B13 8AR. Our aim is to encourage each other on how to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. 
** Currently, MIFF are gathering together via Zoom on Friday evenings at 8.30pm with occasional meet-ups being held at Riverside House.  If you require the meeting details of please contact John Goodliff johng@riverside-church.org.uk.

Life Groups

During the week, we have a variety of life groups for young people in which we can explore what it means to follow Jesus. These meet on various evenings, in various places.

Pineapple Youth Project

We value the young people of Stirchley; empowering them to grow, build community and to be people of hope.  There are 3 activities that happen throughout the week as part of the outreach work, which is delivered in partnership with Church of the Ascension on the Pineapple Estate. These are two Youth Zone groups and Pineapple Rules Football:

Youth Zone (11-14s) is for young people in school years 7-9 on Pineapple, Stirchley.  We meet during term time on Friday evenings at Church of Ascension Hall, B30 2TJ.

Youth Zone (15-18s) is for young people in school years 10-13 on Pineapple, Stirchley.  We meet during term time on Monday evenings at various people’s houses in a Life Group style.

Pineapple Rules Football

Pineapple Rules Football is a free football session for children and young people aged 8-15.  We meet every Monday (4pm) and Friday (3.45pm) term-time in Highbury Park. It is a community game of football designed to include all ages and genders together.
