Evening Services: 6:30PM

Evening services now take place at Riverside House (6:30pm to 7:45pm).

# Why are we doing this?
Our intention is that these evening services will provide space for more people to gather and attend in-person, to encounter Jesus and form community.

# What will they look like?
The evening services will look and feel very similar to our morning services. However, the room layout will provide a more open relaxed space to be together for worship and fellowship. Jus like our 11.30am services, our evening services will not be livestreamed and there wont be any additional groups for kids or youth.

# When?
These will be every Sunday apart from the first Sunday of the month. The pattern therefore will be:

– 1st Sunday – Tally Ho Gathering in the morning (9.30am) & Prayer & Worship Gathering at Riverside House in the evening (8pm).

– All other Sundays in the month: Gatherings in the morning (9:30am and 11:30am) and evening (6.30pm); both at Riverside House.

Note: Prayer & Worship Gatherings will therefore be changing to the first Sunday of the month starting on Sunday 4 June. There won’t be a Prayer & Worship Gathering in April and May. In May we will pray and worship together at The BIG Riverside Weekend Away.

Total debts were £25000. We have been working with them continuously over the last 18 months, dealing with a number of issues and successfully helped them become totally debt free this March.

Riverside Pantry Manager: Welcome Joyce Muigai

We are pleased to welcome Joyce Muigai who will be joining the Riverside Staff Team as Manager for the Riverside Pantry. Please read below her welcome message as she joins our church family.

“Lack teaches us how to appreciate presence. When they say you never miss water until the wells run dry and absence makes the heart grow fonder; it sounded cliche but it now makes sense.

I have been born where abundance has been having sufficient and choice is about what is available. Going to school without shoes, carrying cold lunch and not being warm enough was always taught to us as a precedence to being better since you will work as hard as you can to not be like what you have grown up seeing.

Visiting neighbours and them hiding food was as normal as it sound abnormal and that is where my passion for food came from.

I am a passionate, ambitious, loving, goal oriented, first born daughter in a family of four. I am passionate about people maybe that is why I am a studying Project Management. I am totally in love with food; I yearn to discover more about it and this prompted my Undergraduate in Food Science and Technology. What can be done about the milk so that it does not go bad? What value can be added to the greens so that it will not just be lost? What can be done to the sugarcanes so that they are not rotting? My life has been about discoveries. I successfully have run a school feeding Programme for 4 years feeding over 3000 school going children with warm food; thus not experiencing what I did and employing over 40 employees and creating livelihood for their family with a penny. Clearly, anything with food count me in. My love for God and being under His guidance and teaching from the Fruit of the Holy Spirit to being a Good Samaritan has been what has been keeping me going.

I am honoured, blessed in-fact to run the Riverside Pantry, it is in complete alignment with my calling. I am learning each and everyday ;from how to handle people, growing my patience, the social norms of the country, how to express myself with compassion the British way.

And indeed I look forward to bringing insight but to also being a student in the system. I have been loved by everyone in the Riverside Family and I appreciate their patience and compassion to help me learn even as the giggle when they see how innocently I have made mistakes here and there.

Shalom.”
